You might have noticed something new around here - I changed my website name! Champagne and Paper Planes is now, My Millennial Kitchen and I am pretty excited about it. While this decision was't easy, I've been thinking about a new website name for a while. Overall, nothing will really change except for some tweaks to my travel content. It's still me, posting all kinds of recipes, just with a more defined lane.
For the last 8 months, I've thought a lot about my brand, the content I want to produce, and what brings me the most joy. When I started my blog, I loved sharing my food and travel adventures but over the last year my travel content has felt more like something I have to share instead of something I want to share.
The more I 'lived online' with my blog, the more I wanted to totally unplug when I was out of the kitchen or off my computer. I started to feel this immense (self-induced) pressure to capture all the things while on vacation instead of enjoying my vacation. I started to realize that my travel content needed to take a back seat so I could get back to what I love - creating recipes!
Another reason for the name change is that as Mark and I get closer to starting our family, there will be times when I'm not traveling, and I'm ok with that. With the name Champagne and Paper Planes, I felt handcuffed to my travel content because it was literally in the name of my brand.
While this doesn't mean I won't ever post about my travels, it just won't be the major focus of my brand. Having travel become a smaller part of my content allows me to share one recapping blog post with all my favorite photos instead of feeling like I need to squeeze out four or five blog posts from one trip. Major pressure taken off my shoulders!
So, what can you expect from My Millennial Kitchen? More food, recipes, and kitchen related content! I want to refocus my recipes on healthy-ish, seasonal, easy meals that help build confidence in the kitchen. A big thank you to everyone who has been on this crazy blog journey with me. I know some of you have been here since day one (hi, mom & dad!) but I know you're going to love this new chapter and all the deliciousness it brings!
